MANASSAS, Va. – The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative’s non-profit volunteer organization, NOVEC HELPS, is collecting new, unwrapped toys through Thursday, Dec. 10, for the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. HELPS is also participating with the Toys for Tots Cruise-in Drive, organized by several local car clubs.
Toys may be dropped off at these NOVEC offices:
10323 Lomond Drive
Manassas, VA 20109
5399 Wellington Branch Drive
Gainesville, VA 20155
14500 Minnieville Road
Woodbridge, VA 22193
Hours: 8:15 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday-Friday
The Marine Corps in Quantico will distribute toys to underprivileged children in Northern Virginia.
According to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation website, www.toysfortots.org, the primary goal of the program “is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.”
NOVEC HELPS Executive Director Donna Snellings says, “NOVEC HELPS and the Toys for Tots program both want to make our communities better. Providing toys is one way we can make the holidays a little brighter for less-fortunate children in our area.”
