OUTAGE UPDATE [6-13/7am]: NOVEC has worked through the night and restored power to all but 126 customers. Crews continue working to restore power to those still affected customers.

Pad-Mounted Transformers

The underground electrical system at NOVEC operates through a system of underground cables, which feed above-ground pad-mounted transformers, junction boxes, and switches. These transformers are regularly inspected for damage, graffiti, and rust.

Transformers are inspected for safety, sanded, repainted, and re-decaled by crews from Transformer Maintenance and Services, Inc. throughout the year during good weather.

Proper landscaping around these boxes is also checked during these inspections and randomly if problems arise. Please note proper planting instructions, which are located on the decal on the door of every NOVEC metal pad-mounted unit. See Landscaping Standards for additional information.

NOVEC reserves the right through easement to remove any structure, or remove or trim back plant material that does not adhere to these specifications.
